Página 1 de 9 RESUMEN Este trabajo tiene como objetivo central problematizar las relaciones entre la Educación Física Escolar (EFE), en cuanto área de conocimiento, y la salud, cuestionando el papel que esta disciplina como integrante del currículo escolar puede desempeñar, con vistas a la promoción de la salud de sus alumnos, analizando los diferentes paradigmas sobre Actividad Física y Salud en la Educación Física, que subyacen a la labor pedagógica del docente en sus clases de Educación Física Escolar. En nuestra concepción, la Salud es un derecho de ciudadanía que asiste al individuo siendo responsabilidad indelegable del Estado en sus niveles Municipal, Provincial y Nacional, el brindarle las herramientas necesarias para el goce de un óptimo estado de Salud.
